BMF MTB Programs 2010

                                            

The Ben Mikic Foundation works in partnership with the The Outdoor Education Group to bring a unique Mountain Bike Skills Based Training experience to the cycling community of Australia.

Details of our next Mountain Bike Training camp are below along with a flyer and registration forms for downloading.

When and Where:

Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October 2010 in Canberra [view poster]

We will be making use of the mountain bike trails within Majura Pines State Forest and staying at Innabaanya Campsite

Program:

The program is designed for participants with little to no mountain bike experience and more advanced riders, accomodating participants that would fall into the three categories below:

Level 1

Little or no MTB or off road experience. A general level of fitness is required. 
Objective
To provide confidence to pursue further off road riding through the acquisition of good skills set.


Level 2

Some MTB and/or off road experience. Good level of fitness
Objective
To build confidence, introduce hard skills and develop interest in off road racing. 

Level 3

Advance Group of MTB with experience that includes off road technically sound hard skills and/or has done off road racing.  A high level of fitness required.
Objective
To further enhance skills set and encourage more advanced off road racing and competition.

There will be joint sessions run with mentors and MTB experienced professional cyclists 

Who is running it?

Instructors are trained professional instructors from the Outdoor Education Group with support from BMF friends and experienced cyclists.

Where do I sleep and eat?

Bunks within Bunya Bunya Cottage and camping in tents
(tents and sleeping mats provided).

Catering

Saturday Dinner, Sunday Breakfast and Lunch is catered.  Please bring Lunch for the first day and snacks. Water bottles are also required (Camelback advised).

Group Sizes

We will be limiting the program to 2 groups with a maximum of 14 riders per group. 
All riders will be re-grouped or groups divided further depending on enrolments.

Age

11 - 20*
*age group recommended however please call 02 4869 6700 if you are over 20 years old and would be able to act in a mentor role. If under 11 years old please again contact us to allow a review of your application

Cost

The cost is $180 per participant inclusive of food, accommodation and all MTB Tuition.


What do I bring?

Riders to please bring riding equipment: MTB bike*, spare tubes, pump, helmet, appropriate comfortable riding clothing and any other cycling equipment as required. Additionally, please bring; clothing and personal items, sleeping bag, pillow, towel and eating utensils; mug, plate and cutlery.
*If you require a Mountain Bike there is a limited supply available for hire which would be suitable for beginner riders.

Where are we meeting?

Meeting point will be the Innabaanya Campsite on Majura Road ACT, 10.00am. Directions will be sent once registration form has been received. Please do not turn up on the day with out first registering!
